a little take off from last week's topic, I know some of you are desperate to bitch about the last place you lived.
10 Things I don't miss about Alaska
1. The cold
2. The dark
3. Driving on snow and ice for 7 months
4. Work(yeah, I know it was on the 'miss list' too...I don't miss being on call 24/7)
5. No good concerts
6. Mosquitoes...lots and lots of mosquitoes
7. So far from siblings and their cute kiddos
8. Flying 4+ hours to really get ANYWHERE
9. 100+ gas bills ( I know many of you have higher ones in CO, but for a single girl it was tough)
10. Did I mention it was dark and cold for long periods of time?
In other good news...I've taken the next three days off and plan to spend it relaxing with Sienna, quality time at the DMV finally getting CO plates, and hopefully tackling the pig toile paper.
Plus I learned today that our Exec director is implementing a summer schedule for our office. Office closes every Friday @ 1, closed every Monday in July and the whole week of July 4th off without any loss to our PTO bank. Hooray for summer!

ReplyDeleteSO .... The Ten Things I Don't Miss About Florida:
1. Giant Bugs
2. Blue Hairs behind the wheel
3. Poisonous Snakes
4. A Super Wal-Mart in every town (ours was flamingo pink) yet I had to drive twenty minutes to Target
5. My hubby being grouchy after work.
6. Living so far from "home"
7. Heat
8. Alligators
9. Moldy smells
10. Being unable to swim in the ocean, because it's so dang full of sharks where we lived!
Wow, mosquitos in Alaska? I never knew.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your few days off this week! Hopefully it's not all spent at the DMV. Yikes!

Things I Don't Miss About Boston
ReplyDelete1. Last 2 weeks of 1st pregnancy were hottest ever on record
2. 45-minutes to drive the 11 miles to work (1 hour 5 minutes on the train, which, I know, was also on "miss" list)
3. learning to drive like a Masshole (but I eventually did)
4. Nasty politics at work
5. Unhappy husband for part of the time
6. Flooded basement (many times)
7. Skunked dog (only once, which puts it ahead of CO, come to think of it)
8. Speaking of basement, it was gross
That's it. I can't think of ten-- Boston was a pretty great place to live! In fact, I thought of another one for the "miss" list-- incredibly mild winters.
As for your summer schedule, is SBD gonna benefit from that at all?
Hey, I drive like that MK:) Just not when others are in the car!
